EAAC4 will now be held on Friday 27 September 2024 via Zoom during Stripes Week.

The EAA is a young Africa-wide alliance of epilepsy associations that was formed in December 2019.
Each year, the EAA hosts a conference to bring together people working to defeat epilepsy in the African continent and interested parties from across the world. In 2020, the EAA planned as a high-level dialogue meeting that became its first conference.

This year, the conference will be held during Stripes Week/Africa Epilepsy Week which runs from 23-27 September. Stripes Week is an annual event promoted by the Epilepsy Alliance Africa (EAA). It is celebrated globally during the 3rd week of September each year to accelerate epilepsy awareness. During Stripes Week, we mobilise people for epilepsy awareness throughout the world. What is the easiest thing you could do during the week? Wear or use zebra colours. Anything with stripes or zebra colours. A hat, scarf, headcover, shirt, dress, blouse, trousers, bag, belt, t-shirt and tie or cushion or hair.

Through this conference, we hope to bring people together to learn about the work that is being done by advocates and professionals, hear from experts and policymakers and more importantly hear stories of resilience and how people with epilepsy and their families are being impacted.

Who can present, talk or share experience: academics, clinicians, professionals, social workers, organisations, advocates and people with experience of living with epilepsy or caring can all submit an abstract.
